Mohamed Bachiri

Mohamed Bachiri grew up in Algeria and moved to the United States for college.  Mohamed was always attracted to art. As a teenager, he created charcoal drawings and dabbled in watercolors. After high school, he pursued an education in engineering that eventually led to a career in high tech. After raising 3 children, he turned his attention to painting, first starting with acrylics then switching to oil.

In pursuit of better skills, and the tools to find his voice, he trained under Eva Cincotta and took workshops with Michelle Usibelli, Emily Passman, Jacob Dhein, Christine Lashley and Mark Lague.

Mohamed wants his paintings to be loose and layered with many colors and some marks that are surprisingly out of place. Mohamed is always looking at ways of obliterating and abstracting shapes yet keep the vision of the painting intact.

Mohamed is a member of the North Shore Arts Association and the Newburyport Art Association.
